Project Overview

The Travel English Course is a structured and interactive online learning experience designed to equip adult learners with practical English skills for real-life travel situations. Created on Moodle, the course focuses on real-world communication using authentic dialogues, essential vocabulary, and context-specific expressions, all scaffolded around Bloom’s Taxonomy to ensure deeper learning and real-life application.

Course Structure

Each section of the course represents a typical travel scenario — from the airport and hotel check-in to dining out and asking for help at a police station. Every module follows a consistent, pedagogically-sound structure:

  • New Words

Learners are introduced to essential vocabulary through interactive drag-and-drop H5P activities using visuals, enhancing retention and context-based learning.

  • Useful Expressions

Students explore practical phrases needed in the specific travel situation. These are paired with interactive H5P exercises to promote active recall and usage in context.

  • Dialogue with Audio & Interaction

Each module includes a real-life scenario-based dialogue with native-speaker audio. Learners complete a drag-and-drop gap-fill activity to reinforce vocabulary and sentence structure through listening.

  • Review & Practice Quiz

At the end of each unit, learners complete a formative quiz designed in line with Bloom’s Taxonomy (Remember, Understand, Apply). The quiz assesses understanding and supports learners in transferring knowledge to new situations.

Learning Objectives (per section)

Each section is built around a clear, measurable learning outcome. For example:
